Re: Integrating SE with Geoportal Server... Can't get it to work :(

Stefan Blume
Hi Miguel,

most likely you need to adjust the "sdisuite.keystore.location" parameter in your \geoportal\WEB-INF\classes\gpt\config\gpt-tc.xml file.
If you have a keystore file ready (see integration documentation, chapter 2.2.2 [0]) that one needs to be class loader available for the geoportal.
This means if you have a keystore file already copied to (let's say):
\geoportal\WEB-INF\classes\.keystore
the value of the property would be "/.keystore"

Betreff: [Metadata] Integrating SE with Geoportal Server... Can't get it to work :(

Greetings all,

While you are at the UC in SD, I'm trying to integrate SE with Geoportal Server (A4I) version, and having no luck at all.  After implementing the adapter for Geoportal (WEB-INF) and attempting log in as gpt admin, I get an error on the page saying:
"The page isn't redirecting properly"
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
I have followed the instructions for installing both SE & the connector to the letter, but I must be missing something...  the gpt logfile is showing the following server error:

12-Jul-2011 16:21:39 com.esri.gpt.framework.jsf.BaseActionListener
handleException
SEVERE: Exception raised.
java.lang.IllegalStateException: Can't load certificate and key with alias 'gpt-security' from keystore '/gpt/config/keystore.jks'!
Msgjava.io.IOException: Unable to create resource URL for path:
/gpt/config/keystore.jks

Somthing to note is that when I invoke the SE by itself:
http://<server>:8080/smarteditor   I get nothing, no errors, and just a
blank page.

I'm using the download for SE best fitted for Geoportal v 1.1.
My platform is:
Windows 2008R2 std SP1 VM.
ArcGIS 10 Desktop & Server.
Tomcat 6.0.29.
PostgreSQL 8.4.5
Apache Directory services
Geoportal Server (version as included in ArcGIS for INSPIRE v1.0 SP1)

Many thanks in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide

Regards,

Miguel

Greetings Stefan,

Your reply was much appreciated.  the value of the property was not properly defined. I followed your suggestion, to use "/.keystore" and that did the trick.

However, I have other problems which you might be able to suggest what to do about them.  If I invoke the smart editor:  http://<server>:8080/smarteditor, I get a blank page.  through firebug I can see that there are several messages saying "jQuery is not defined"  I'm including a screen capture of this:
Firebug showing errors after invoking sE

I'm not certain why this is happening, but there might seem to be some files missing. The version of Geoportal I'm using is 1.1.1.

If you require any additional information to complete the picture, please let me know.

Hi Miguel,

I suggest you're using the GPT version of the smartEditor? If so, please download the latest SNAPSHOT release I've built today. I've corrected some errors that crept in the deployment when we upgraded to jquery 1.5.2.

Simply download the file here:
http://security.demo.52north.org:8080/view/metadata/job/52n-metadata%20smarteditor%20complete%20trunk/ws/trunk/smarteditor-gpt-webapp/target/smarteditor-gpt-webapp-1.2-SNAPSHOT.war

Let me know how it works.

Regards,
Kristian
